Completely agree. However, all relationships have to start from somewhere, and most of us generally start off treating people with respect until they show whether they deserve it or not.

Let's take a relatively extreme example to try to show the point.

We don't steal from people we don't know, because we respect their property. this respect hasn't been earnt, it considered a basic level of respect everyone deserves.

I would also suggest that most people don't steal off known Christians, because we respect their property just like anyone else's, again this isn't a respect that is earnt it is also a basic level of respect shown.


(apologies for the joke, it was the first thing I thought of when i saw Xests post, so out of respect I couldn't deny everyone else the same groaning opportunity :) )

When i go out for a drink with friends or anyone else tbh , i generally have one rule.

Dont TALK ABOUT RELIGON.
I see a red door and I want it painted black. No colours anymore I want them to turn black

cos you end up haveing a never ending argument and ppl start to get baned from forum .

On a social occasion I agree.

In the wider world I think the lack of (or fear of?) discussing religion actually leads to a lot of the problems.

Muslims fear Christians and vice-versa, mainly because they don't understand each other, and they never will if they don't discuss each others religions in a civilised manner.
