Source:Have you ever thought about how totally awesome it would be to have a live action movie version of The Sims? Yeah, me neither. But apparently, it seems like a perfectly logical idea to Fox and producer John Davis.
According to Variety.com, Fox has acquired the rights to make a movie based on the record-breaking PC game franchise. Davis will produce, while Brian Lynch will handle the script. Lynch is the writer for the upcoming TV series "Dodge" and movie "Big Helium Dog."
Sims Studio head Rod Humble will be managing the creative property for the game's publisher, Electronic Arts. "'The SIMS has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it," said Humble. "Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling."
Well, we're not so sure about that last part, but it should certainly be interesting to see how this turns out.
