I mean, at what height above ground does it start? 1 inch, 1 foot, 1 yard, 1 mile?

Is there an official definition?

It starts where the ground stops .. so 0cm, 0inch, 0foot etc

Perhaps the sky starts at clip distance, which depends what your clip range is set to. Mines at Near atm
