American dates on forum

Post by Cromcruaich »

All forum dates are in mm-dd-yy format - checked user CP for options but cant find date format option. Naturally my regional settings are uk.

Is there a setting buried somewhere on forum that i'm missing?

Also noticed (with haveing finish regional settings) and now checked the other tools that are available for forum maintenance that i know off. Couldnt see anything there to adjust this either. Will ask Lair to have a look at it to reset it to 24 hour notation and dd/mm/yy

It's probably pulling the date format from the server.

Or maybe from the pryd database. Guess it got reset to default US values during the recent upgrade. I am sure Lair can fix it

Might be, but the then db would be pulling the date from.... :p

Might be independant, it's just not that common, but then i dont work with db's or forum software much.

DB usually stores datetimes independant of regional settings (unless its being stored as a string, which is a bit naughty!).

The typical thing is that the account in which the web site is running has not been explicitly set for uk regional settings - this usually happens when the default regional setting has been left as us, even though the admin account under which machine was configured has been changed over.

Thats my experience under web servers on microsoft os's anyway.

Glad it wasnt me just not finding the option.

doh, nerf slow typing
