so ... if I want the tracks to play in the order they were originally in on the CD do I have to rename all the MP3 files with the track number at the front or is there an easier way?

ATM Musicmatch only copies all tracks in alphabetical order into the root directory of the mp3 player.
I could make folders & copy the albums over individually (making a nonsence of the sync function) but the tracks would still be in alphabetical order.
I could copy the folders over with windows explorer but then they're all still alphabetical within the folders.

Just use Windows Media Player to rip them to MP3 , if your connected to the net :P it will rename the album and the tracks as it does so.

<=== Nooblet
Musicmatch has lots of options for naming & renaming tracks however you want it.
Took me about 10 secs to rename my entire collection to Artist Name - Album Name - Track No. - Track Name

always used Itunes, easy to create several playlists, edit tracks (levels and such) - can download the album artwork, get the tracks names from a cd online (so you dont have to do it manually).
