Irreversible Clustering?
like de film Heartbreak Ridge... General says to Clint Eastwood "U met any clusterfucks latley?".... Eastwood replies "Hell yeah, but the aint reversible.....
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistance. Talent will not: nothing more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistance and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.......

Not quite what I meant though that's an impressive leap of faith in Mythics direction.Xest wrote:Erm, Mythic if Mythic wanted clustering to be reversible it's something they'd have planned in from the very very start of it's design, therefore why would they have said it's irreversible at all? Mythic staff wont have woken up one day and said "Hmm, let's make clustering reversible!"
I've seen much code slung together on the basis that this 'will' be the new direction we are taking & as such there will be no U-turns. Only for everything on the other side of the fence not to be so rosy & some other poor muppet has to pick it all apart again. Through out it all the original code monkeys are proclaiming that it's impossible to do & even if it were managed it'd be a mess beyond all comprehension & that the day after it was finished the world would spontaneously combust. If this is what was said at the outset then it's entirely possible that GOA were told the information that it was irreversible & at that state of play Mythic thought it was.
Though again I'll stress that as none of us work for either of them who are we to know - & even whether the non-US version is unclusterable.
Btw, I am just saying that it is possible ... not that that is the actual reason
.
There has been comments that in game CSRs was one of the options that GOA decided not to take for example

Yes but there's a slight difference between an app that has to be written in a few days to please some cheif exec and a game that could risk losing thousands of customers if something doesn't work properly and isn't reversible.Genedril wrote:Not quite what I meant though that's an impressive leap of faith in Mythics direction.
