Looks like a ballpython (aka Royal Python). Beautiful snake

spot on... and you are right about it being beautiful, it has the most amazing shaped head and its nature is such that it wont ever hurt people... it knows you are too big to eat so rolls itseld up into a ball and hopes you go away... hence the name Ball python

I thought you might... but it was for the benefit of others... didn't want them thinking I was fearless

.... which of course I am... I had a blind snake in my hand that day and 2 days later I went and petted a couple of Crocodiles... truly amazing creatures those crocs.... hard as granite on the back and soft as baby skin on the underside of the legs.

Hehe yeah, reptiles rock. I used to have a kayman some years ago - small but incredible aggressive

(120cm or so) - I wouldnt wanna get bitten by it, I saw it snap a piece of deep frozen fish with no problem what so ever and it slammed me with its short tail once so my arm hurt quite some time
